We were hanging out in the Sculpture building and I asked what he had been working on; he reached in his pocket and pulled out this small wooden cube. He said it was from a larger piece of wood that he had sanded down. He showed it in a sculpture critique by just placing it on the floor before the class started. Everyone else had installed huge sculptures that were drawing a lot of attention, while no one had even noticed his cube. By the time the class was ready to critique his piece, Jason had to search for it. Apparently it had been accidentally kicked around the room a few times. I laughed at the incident, but also felt that his sculpture showed a kind of humility which was was represenative of the person who made it.
